    seeing things before they happen
hi, I regularly think of things a few seconds before they happen. Its only when it's a passing thought though. Today I paid with eftpos card and I thought service will probably drop out with the machine and I will have to reswipe my card and it did. I could be thinking about someone then randomly run into them.even if I hadn't seen them for years. I have even thought, there could be an accident here and a few seconds later there was. This happens all the time. I can't control it. It only happens if it is a random passing thought at any given time. I can also dream the same dream more than twice. I can change the outcome of that dream especially if I know I have been that way or been there before.how can I develop and understand these feelings.thanks steve

I too can think of countless times when something or someone I was just thinking about then happened or I ran into. However, I also know that for every one of those events there are untold thousands that didn't. So rules of probability apply, and I then realize that it's mostly chance. The prediction part is based on your knowledge of the past, and you might be better at compiling the facts than others. If you want to pursue the belief that you can foretell the future based on something paranormal, don't let me stop you, however.
But have you ever thought about what the future is? It's a collection of past events plus a certain amount of chance, of randomness. You might argue that there is no such thing as chance. If you are driving down the road and a truck roars by and a bee is swept into your open window and it stings your arm, and you knew that was going to happen, is it from your knowledge of the patterns of bees and winds on summer days? If you make a phone call just as that person calls you, is that because you know that person well enough to know when he will call? I say yes.

To top that off I've often heard that Deja-vu is simply the mind receiving the same signal twice and thus thinking it has already happened or is about to happen.
