    Go to the courthouse... or online and find the list of previous owners and when they owned it. This is public information... then use those names to look up obituaries that have that name associated with it. Those names will be associated with a child's obituary.

    The older the house the more difficult this will be.

    There is a site you can go to -- starts with a Z - can't remember the name but it will give you a recent history of your property -- its current value, the dates of when it changed ownership and how much it sold for etc etc. I would take the names you get from the buyer/sellers and start googling. I would check local news archives and sometimes if you can get a name -- you can find many police departments post their activity logs or online narratives. Just as the previous poster said though the older the house the more difficult this could prove to be. One option with an older house though is always neighbors that have lived there a long time -- ask around and good luck.
