    House with lots of history
I am looking for the history of my house that was built in the late 1800's. Is there anyplace online that I can search?

    Haunted or not?
Our kids refuse to sleep upstairs because my son saw a short woman wearing a hat in his room next to his bed. Come to find out our city's old librarian passed away in this house and the description matched her exactly. He said she was nice, but it creeped him out!

Recently I have a seen a shadow of a cat on 2 different occasions and we do NOT have a cat. And my husband and I have both seen a shadow of a little kid. We think it is a boy, but not sure. It peeks around corners and runs away when you approach it!

Is there any way to research this creepy stuff?

Go to the public library (certainly THEY will have info!), the newspaper morgue/archives, village and county historical societies/museums (curators), neighbors who have been there a while, local historians (every town has at least one who knows all the stories).

I find family and house history stuff online by using Google and good keywords. A librarian (living one) can help you with this.

Let us know what you find out! (I'm a retired librarian who is still planning where to haunt.)

Greetings all! My wife and I are purchasing a house built during the 1960's in Texas. I have some concerns about the electrical system. It appears to be wired with 2 wire, non metallic cabling for most of the outlets in the living and bed rooms. All these rooms have 2 prong outlets. The...
