When do you capatalize a dinosaur's name?
Have a question for some of you out there. When do you capitalize a dinosaurs name.

    For Example: Brachiosaurus vs brachiosaurus.

    1. Did you know Brachiosaurus (italicized) had a long neck?
    2. Did you know the brachiosaurus had a long neck?

From my understanding, both are correct. One is referring to the Scientific name (genus) without the species, and one is the English name. I just wanted to hear from others, too!

You capitalize proper nouns. You do not capitalize common nouns.

    "John went to the john."

You DO capitalize the first word in a plant or animal classification. Italicize too if you want.
