    Security updates
After checking the add & remove program section of my PC, I found a lot of security updates downloaded by MSN. Some were called "Hotfix"? The strange thing is that they are downloaded only on my settings and not my wife's or administrator sections. Why are these programs being downloaded without my knowing? Can it be stopped?

When you say "MSN" that can be a lot of programs - MSN Messenger, MSN Explorer etc. Can you be a little more specific on the program.

Anyway, if you are running an account that isn't an administrator then the hotfixes wouldn't have had the permissions to be installed on any other user account but your own (I think). As for disabling these downloads, they should be a way but I wouldn't advise it. If these are security fixes, not downloading them could put your PC at risk.
