Need approx decibel (dBA) level for bark of an Australian shepherd
I didn't know if sound was a part of physics or not, so not sure of what science class to put this Q under. Hope someone can help.

Does anyone know of a chart that maybe lists the dBA of breeds of dogs barks or does anyone who has access to a decibel meter know/have an austalian shepherd to give an approximate level for the sound of a typical Australian Shephard warning-type of bark?
    Thanks.

    Dear wallabee4

This depends of course on the specific dog : just as different humans speak with different volumes, different dogs bark with different volumes.

Sound for reference purposes is normally measured at 1 meter distance from the source.

As indication : a barking dog can produce anything between 80 and 110 dB.

    :)

My 4 month old puppy is getting better with pottying outside now. But he always just stands at the door and so if we don't see him there, he just ends up doing his business next to the door. Is there a way to teach him to bark when he needs to go? Or is he going to naturally learn himself?
