    How are newer religions different from older ones?
    How are they similar?
    Can some one help with this question? I can not seem to find anything that regards to this on the web. Thanks in advance. ;)

    With most of the newer religions they tend to be more spiritual. People who are seriously looking for a deeper meaning to life and a close walk with God, etc...
    The older religions tend to be man made traditions, doing ritual rote things that lost their meaning a long time ago but people follow them because they were taught that was what it took in order to go to heaven.

    Are you talking about things like kaballah and such? J-9 is right, they are based more in personal spirituality rather than tradition and rites and things like that.

    Well to us Catholics, any other protestant religion is a "newer" religion.

    Haha yes, that's the truth, I was raised Catholic.. but I'm thinking that this person is talking about religions that got popular in the last hundred years or so, probably.

    Yeah my guess is the ones within the past 10 to 50 years like the mega Christian churches and the new age churches and the kabbalah and so forth. Although the true kabbalah is old; the new one is basically false. If you want to follow the kabbalah make sure it is the kosher Zohar and N0T the Madonna one. You can ask ETWolverine on the Jewish board here about that.
