    Saltwater Tank Cloudiness.
My 55-gal saltwater (non-reef) tank has been up and running for approximately two years now. I had been using a whisper 60 over-the-back filter, and a similar skimmer. I purchased a canister rated up to 100 gal, installed it, and everything was cool. Now my water is very cloudy. I still have the whisper 60 running (for the good bacteria or whatever), but disconnected the skimmer to install the canister. After a few days, the water began to get a bit cloudy, and it's only getting worse. Both of the filters have activated carbon - the canister has a lot of it! What's the problem now?

    Thanks, I appreciate any suggestions.

It's probably due to turning off the skimmer to add the new filter.
If all of your water tests are coming back normal,
I'd hook the skimmer back up and just wait it out.

I think you are right akeaetrue, I had this problem before and the skimmer is absolutely necessary to clear water.
