    Bathing a hedgehog
My question is when can I bathe him? I only got him for 2 days now. But he is about 7 weeks old now. Is it okay to bathe him this soon or should I give a while longer.

Please read the link I posted. The first two sentences are, "Bathing a hedgehog can be easy if you give them baths when they are young. Young hedgehogs can become accustomed to bathing more easily than older pets and may even enjoy swimming during bath time."

I used to have a hedgehog and he LOVED baths. We would get a toothbrush and lightly "brush" his spikes. He loved it, his skin would get dry (all hedgehogs skin will) and so it would get itchy, and since he couldn't reach his back he needed us to do it for him. If your bathing him in your kitchen sink (like we used to) be VERY careful, at one point ours got his nail stuck in the plug... lets just say it didn't end well and from then on he was bathed in the bath tub. Also be careful not to have the water to deep, chances are he will fold up into a ball when first put in, therefore his nose will go under the water, whatever you don't scare him, you want him to unfold so his nose won't be under the water. Once he gets used to it he will stop doing it though. Start with just a tad bit of water, just enough for his feet to get wet and if he seems to like it slowly add more over time.
