    Different places of residence
I was having a lovely chat with some people about our different places of residence, and the person that started the topic withdrew it! How annoying!

I was just about to start a new topic too! Haha.. I was really enjoying that conversation! But in response to you, I am from California where wine is very plentiful. I love it! Wine tasting tours are so much fun! :)

Oh yes - aren't they! We sometimes get a little mini-bus together and do a tour around the vineyards - stop for lunch... stock up on our fav's. We have a chocolate factory, Cheese Factory and a Champagne house all on the same stretch of road... so it's a slow trip down the street on the bus!

Oh that sounds like so much fun! We do our wine tours on a bus as well, just to prevent drinking and driving. I have heard that in some places when you go wine tasting you have to spit it back out. Is that true? In California you just get to swallow it. What is someone going to do with wine that has been in someone's mouth? Haha :)

Lol... yes it's true in part. They do provide large containers - usually a wine barrel itself with a big stainless steel lid that you can pour the remainder of your tasting glass into - and you can spit the contents of your mouth into it if you want - but they don't make you... and I have to admit I rarely do - regardless of how bad the wine is! Lol...

I know what you mean... what possible use could they have for 'recycled wine'? Lol...

Oh that sounds like such a neat place! I really hope I get to travel there someday! We have lots of theme parks here in Florida, along with the Everglades National Park. I haven't been all over Florida yet so those are the only ones I know of so far :)

I hear great things about Florida... maybe one day we can house swap! Lol...

4.30 has reached me, I am going home to light our fire and curl up for the night... it has been snowing here recently and we live just below the Barrington Tops, which is where the snow falls... chilly... =)

Thank you for the chat and for getting me through the end of my day at work =)

Just stopping in to add my two cents worth. This thread looked interesting. I live in Illinois on the border between Iowa and Illinois. Believe-it-or-not, we have winery's and vineyards around here! You would not expect it, but we do. They are not plentiful, but we do have them.

My daughter lives in the Napa Valley of California. She is the manager at a historic cinema theater in St. Helena, CA. When she comes back here to visit, she brings lots of wine that has been given to her by the owner of the cinema.

I was in the Navy for 5 months and went to boot camp in Great Lakes. It is soooo cold there but other than that it seemed so nice! But let me tell you, they don't call it the windy city for nothing... lol.

Your daughter is lucky to live in Napa. It is so pretty there! I live in Fresno, which is okay, but nothing compared to Napa, or the beaches. Have you been to California to visit yet?

Yes. I have been to California to visit her. I plan on going out at the end of this summer or in the early fall. I like to drive out. Don't miss so much that way. Like to collect rocks along the way for my garden areas.

I've been driving all across the country. Isn't it so much fun? I'd love to collect rocks as memories of where I've been but I don't have a garden :( So I settle for Tshirts instead. Lol

I think t-shirts would make for fine memorabilia! Also, when you wear them, they can be good conversation starters with people when they ask you about the t-shirt, where you got it, what does it mean, etc.

Oh they are good conversation starters. Everyone is amazed at how many different places I've been to.. lol. I'm not real big on flying if I don't have to, I'd rather drive and see the scenery. :)
