    Anyone here!

I just had a farking heart attack. Chewy (my beagle puppy) was outside with Jasper and all of a sudden I hear him howling in pain like he's been attacked! I ran to the side of the house and there he is cowering, howling by a big metal rod that's in the back. I thought Jasper had done something but Jasper is just standing there licking Chewy. I called them both and they wouldn't come and Chewy wouldn't stop howling, so I ran to him. He had licked the metal rod and his tongue was stuck and he's trying to pull himself free. Wiggy is gone, Jared and Sydney are asleep, just me. I tried warming it up with my hands but he wouldn't sit still. Finally I had to run inside to get a glass of warm water. So I had to leave poor Chewy alone, pulling to get the water to set him free. There's blood everywhere but he seems okay, and of course the vet clinic is closed. It's not bleeding anymore and I know the tongue heals quickly, but I'm still worried. What should I do? If I take him to the emergency vet it will cost a bundle and I'm sure he'll be okay, but I know it would make me feel better if I heard it from a vet.

    What to do?

OH NO! Your puppy has been watching The Christmas Story, hasn't he?? Crazy beagle!

Has the bleeding stopped? Maybe warm water would help... it would warm up the area and flush out any germs that could have gotten in...

    Aww Alty, I'm sorry... :(

Hi HC. He seems okay, a bit shaken but okay. The bleeding has stopped, and he's once again playing around with Jasper. Hopefully he learned his lesson and won't do that again!

Poor little guy, the hardest part was having to leave him in order to get the water. I'm sure he thought I was abandoning him and that he was on his own. He was so happy when he got free, he wouldn't leave my side for 10 minutes. Now he's back to his normal puppyness. Silly puppy, I've never ever had a dog do that before.

Busy, crazy, still shook up, but otherwise okay. I went shopping today, I'm almost done Christmas shopping, so that's good, only a few more things to get and of course there's the wrapping.

    Mainly I'm tired, but that's okay, I'll live. ;)

That's true Judy. I guess you really can't be that insulted if only one word out of 15 is correct. ;)

If one of my kids ever talked like that, they'd be getting a mouthful of liquid soap, I don't mess with bar soap, liquid is easier! ;)

Would you think it was odd if you bought one of those keychain photo things and you just set it up and when you went to download YOUR photos you discovered photos of people you don't already know already on the keychain?

I have been in the "service" industry for almost 40 years. I want you to think about this ------When you call me because your water heater is broken, do you stop to think that YOU may not be my only customer? Or have I been sitting here , by the phone , WAITING for your call?
There has to be some give and take with the service industry and the consumer. If you can get someone to reply immediately or within a 36 hjours window, paying extra fees should be the leats of your worries. I have had customers call me on Christmas Eve to come out a unclog a sink for them be cause they have a houseful of people. Being single , it is not a problem but there is always an extra charge because of the timing. And people and moan about it. Give and take. It is easier that way.

I agree. My parents had many rental properties when we were growing up. Tennants were calling almost daily... usually at dinnertime, or some stupid hr. and expect someone to be at there house... like yesterday! If no one showed up in 15 or 20 minutes. to look after silly problems, they would continue to call every few minutes. and would get pretty nasty with not only my parents, but us kids! Most of the time it wasn't even something as serious as a water heater, and anything major. It was usually something stupid like, cold air was coming through the bottom of their door, or their dryer wasn't working... only to find out they just blew a breaker. I remember one C'mas eve, we had a house full of company, and one of the tenants called and she was all excited because she said her house was dark, and she couldn't figure out what happened! So off my Dad went in the middle of our celebration, to go see why she didn't have any lights! Can you say... change your lightbulbs?

In case it was overlooked on pet peeve.

I have been working with a young man who is getting over a tough time from his past(recent)and is now dating a new girlfriend,I asked if he would like a females perspective about what he is going into.

He is 15,getting past a 'violent' episode and stopped drinking/smoking just a few weeks ago.

Anyone want to add to his thread?
