    Are State chapters of a 501(c)3 organization also entited to non-profit status?
    Are State chapters of a 501(c)3 organization also entited to non-profit status under the umbrella organization's EIN?

    Hello n:

    Your term "state chapter" has no meaning in law... If the organization is a BRANCH of the umbrella organization, then YES... But, if it's an independent organization, it's going to have to get it's own tax status and EIN.
