Sold a business and never got paid
I financed and sold my janitorial business, they were behind in interest payments. I sent them a letter stating I was coming to take back and sell the business for what they owed. They turned around and sold the business to some other party. I won a judgment in court for a garnishment order for approximately $10,000.00. I served and collected 7 orders, (held in trust by the court}. They then filed for bankruptcy. The bankruptcy company took the $4,100.00 held in the courts. They had no right to sell that business to anyone. Can I go and get my business back from the person who bought it? I believe it was illegally sold.
    Thank-you

You may be able to have the sale of the business voided. The bankruptcy trustee has the right to void any transfers made within a certain period prior to the bankruptcy filing. What does your attorney say?
