    Hello a:

Call him on the phone and ask. He'll probably give it to you because that's why he bought it - to protect himself from just this kind of situation.

If he doesn't tell you, check back with us.

So I will assume you did not call the police, and get a police report.

But yes, you just call him and get that info, if not, you write him and ask him to pay $$$ for your damages, if he does not, sue him in court.
Remember now you in court will have to prove he was the driver, his car hit yours, and his car caused the specific damage you are asking for.
If he says, don't know what that crazy man is talking about, it wlll be your word against his.

Was a police report filed? If so, then that should contain the insurance information. Otherwise your best bet would be to file a claim in small claims court. If the damage is as minor as you're suggesting it probably isn't prudent to get insurance involved anyway.

File a claim with your insurance and they will either pay it and subrogate against the other policy or they will just file a claim on their policy on your behalf.
