    Investment Fee for H1
    I'm in CA and working at a client in CA. My H1 holder is in MI. I'm thinking of H1 transfer to other organization. I have completed 8 months with my current H1 holder. The agreement with my current organization is as below. Can my current employer take legal action for the $7000.

    Repayment of Employer Expenses: It is understood and agreed that the company has invested substantial time, money and effort in the Employee prior to commencement of his/her employment. That investment includes the costs of recruiting, training of employee, placement and in some cases the costs of immigration assistance, housing, relocation and the cost of equipment. It is further agreed that the approximate value of XXXX’s investment in the employee alone is $7000 (“Investment Fee”). There fore, in the event Employee terminates this agreement by leaving XXXX's employment prior to the completion of a minimum of Twelve months of full time employment contemplated by this agreement, the Employee will be obligated to repay XXXX as follows:
    If Employee leaves XXXX’s employment for any reason at any time within Twelve (12) months of the Effective Date, Employee shall repay XXX the full $7000 Investment Fee;
    The affective date starts from the day he joins XXXX employment.
