Do you know why he didn't get jail time?
What happens next depends on what level he is - 1, 2, 3.
He has to register, some Police Departments advise the neighbors, some school districts advise the parents that he's in the neighborhood, if he crosses the line again he faces serious jail time. He may not be allowed around children.
Having to register as a sex offender isn't exactly winning but I guess it is in his mind.

Child molester means?
My daughter was molested the jerk , was a family friend, he just pleaded guilty for the crime and was given 3 years suspended and a registered sex offender for life. What does this really mean for him. He laughed at us in court and says he won! I am really upset but the attorney for us says this is good, his life will be hell. Is this true? He seems to think that everything will be the same. I am wondering if guys lives really change ? Does anyone know. I am a sad mom in richmond who is really worried this guy will have a normal life while my daughter thinks if she wears a tight shirt things will happen to her or if she talks to nice to guys they will take advantage of her, oh somebody please help me deal with this

They said that because he was a first time offender and that he would get off, if we didn't offer him this plea deal. So I felt I had no choice in the matter, but he did get probation and has to register as a sex offender for life, he is a father of 2

No, and I would stay as far away from him as possible. He seems to enjoy upsetting you, the Courts have already addressed him, I wouldn't give him any reason to torment you any further.
Your other post indicates that your daughter is having some problems due the molestation - is she seeing a counselor?

His life won't change much if he follows the rules such as staying away from minors... schools, parks,
He may have a difficult time finding places to live and people that find out he is a molester will give him a hard time.
The more you confront him or the more he knows you have a problem with him the more you are feeding his so called triumph and he will continue to rub it in so yes stay away from him and don't discuss it with anybody that it will get back to him through,

Thank you all very much. I am just so mad!! I just want to make sure that he does have a hard time. He thinks he won but I feel its bitter sweet. This guy can't stay out of trouble and maybe he will end up doing the 3 years I can always pray and hope. And yes my daughter has been getting help and it is just going to be a long road , I just want her to know she is amazing , standing up in court and being honest and clear just me love her so much...

In my Ohio county there is a web site that the Sheriff has that gives the County's Sex Offenders. It contains their picture, where they live, their age, and where they work, and a brief outline of their "problem" that landed them on the site. That comes in handy when looking for someone here. You might check with your local Sheriff's Office and see if they have such a web site and be sure the Jerk is on there for everyone to see. Also, if a Sex Offender does move their residence, they have to tell the Sheriff's Office ahead of time where they will be moving to or where they will be working and if they Don't do this, they violate. Maybe you can "monitor" this guy from a distance to see if in fact he has given the correct home address and correct work address. This could work to your advantage if done discreetly.

You may want to get a order of protection so he can not come near you or the child

Hi, mommy of a girl!
No, he didn't win, even if he thinks he did. It's just that he doesn't have to face Bubba in prison, but certainly has to face the stigma and restrictions that society has placed on such persons.
Please rest assured that he will get his taste of reality when he goes looking for a job and/or place to live, and just having a felony conviction, no matter what it was for, will give him trouble in finding a place to call home or a job outside of jobs that most people wouldn't want to do.
Add to that, the fact that the conviction was for a sex offense will give him further barriers in finding homes and jobs as well as being employed in certain types of positions as well as maybe where he even works, even though it might be okay to work there, it's possible that there might be some sort of ordinance in place that would prohibit him from working within a certain distance from places where children congregate.
As far as registering for life, that means that he'll have to register annually at least once and maybe as many as four times a year, depending on the tier level that he's eventually assigned. That's all going to cost him some bucks, every time that he registers. If he can't find a place to live, then he might even have to register more frequently.
I wish for you only the best!
Thanks!

Hi,
There is a web site for sex offenders to check your area, it gives their address and offenses and picture. If it were me I would print off the page and circulate it post it everywhere it is public knowlage all anyone has to do is check the site, but ~sigh~ people are lazy... but if you put it in their face they have to do something about it and usually they the (public) in your area run them out of town.
Please seek counsiling yourself.. you need someone safe to vent to that has help with this type of thing before.
Take care of you , so you can take care of her.
Good luck
