    I got a default judgement for non payment of rent in time, but I did pay the rent.
    I got a default judgement for non payment of rent in time,but i did pay the rent , i paid the rent the same time date, the notice is dated, but i did not received the letter until two days later. Thank you, tenant

    I doubt if they could get a default judgment so quickly. Nor would a judgment be applicable here. So something is not right.

    If you are late on your rent, you get a pay or quit notice. If you don't pay by the due date, then the landlord files for eviction and a hearing is scheduled. If you still haven't paid by the eviction hearing, an eviction order is issued. Once you have vacated the property, the landlord determines if any damages need repairs. This amount is itemized and any unpaid rental is added in. Your security deposit is applied towards this amount. If the security doesn't cover it, then the landlord will file suit and a judgment would then get awarded after a hearing.

    So what are the real facts (and please don't type in all caps.)
