    Double jeopardyr
What is double jeopardy? If you receive a ticket for a moving violation in N.Y. you are find by the court, find by the state ( surcharge ) and your auto insurance is increased by 25%. You are being punished three times for one infraction.

No, non government ratings is not court trials.

All double jeopardy is, they can not change you with the same crime in the same court.

You can not be forced to face the charge for that in the court that tried you the first time. Fines, charges and insurance have nothing to do with it.

If both the city and the county wanted to make you go to their court for the same traffic ticket, that would be double jeopardy. Also if you were found not guilty, they can not give you another ticket and try to do it again for the same offense.
