    Court sumons for debt
I signed for a bail bond a year ago. Along with that bond I acquired other debt and recently filed for bankruptcy, and have received my case number and court date. Before receiving my case number I received paperwork from an attorney that requested paperwork listing assets from myself and the person that I bailed out of jail. My attorney informed me to write the case number etc on the paperwork and mail it back, I did so. The paperwork stated that if it was not filled out and received within 15 days there would a court date requested and if that wasn't complied with then a warrant served. I know I am absolved from the debt once the bankruptcy is completed, but what about the person who I singed the bail bond for? Does it absolve the debt completely? If a court date is requested what should be done? What will happen at court?

Did you co-sign the bond or are you the only person on the bond? I don't know why the other person's financial info was requested if you are the only person on the bond.

This is a question which should be resolved by your Bankruptcy Attorney BEFORE you file.
