    Consolidation leases our land
I am not sure what law category this is, but here is my question. In 1976, our excess land and mineral rights was leased to consolidation coal co. We get $50.00 a year but we have never gotten any other money. We are supposed to get money for anything taken from the land, coal, gas, etc. In 33 years, they have been on the land working off and on. I can't believe there was never any money owed us. What do I need to do to find out about this... Also, my mother is now passed and I am the only child... how do I probate or do whatever is necessary to change the deed into my name. There was no will... she apparently just assumed it would go to me... I live in Virginia.

30 day leases [ 1 Answers ]

If a landlord gave a 30 day lease instead of 1 year, what if any good does this do for the landlord in protecting them from bad tenants. Does the tenant absolutely have to leave with no problems if they don't pay or are trouble after 30 days or do they still have rights to stay.
