    Cancel Court Hearing
On the 6th of July I have a court hearing to fight a fine I received back in February. Instead of fighting the fine am I able to cancel my court hearing and just pay the fine and any additional court fees?

    Hello K:

I would think so.. But to protect yourself, send it in a certified letter, return receipt requested, specifying the details of your case and the dates you are supposed to be in court.

You'll need a VERY good excuse for any Judge to continue your case. And for a case of paying a fine I'm not so sure they'll go for a continuance.

Go down to the courthouse clerk with your money and pay your fine in person as soon as you can. This will cancel any court appearance immediately.
