    Bogus Order of protection

I also had a bogus order of protection filed against me by an ex girlfriend. I am worried about my reputation as it is public information and basically if you search my name in case.net I come up as a stalker. I am married, my wife doesn't know about this, I sell real estate, etc... also, I've heard I will have trouble getting a passport... is this true?

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Second, an OP is issued by a judge after a hearing. A temporary OP may be issued by a judge based on a petition by a complainant. It would then be subject to review at a hearing. If the object of the OP believes it was obtained with false information they can argue that at the hearing. If they feel the temp OP causes them a hardship they can request an expedited hearing.

I'm an alleged stalker - Restraining Order/Protection Order
My ex from 7 years ago filled a restaining order against me. She made stuff up at the hearing and the judge believed her. I am married, my wife doesn't know I have this filed against me. Anyone know how I can get this removed from public record? I am told it can affect me getting a passport - is this true? I am worried about my reputation as if you search for me on case.net I come up as a stalker. Help

I've merged your two threads. Please keep everything to one thread.

You will need to retain an attorney. You will need to prove that the allegations made by your ex were false. You then request a new hearing to clear your record.

We already had the hearing, I had an attorney. I had no proof that what she was saying wasn't true, she had no proof that it was. The judge issued the order for 1 year, my attorney said they almost always issue these orders as to side with caution.

Without proof there is little you can do. You need to analyze her statements. Didn't she have to list specific instances of harassment? Couldn't you prove you were elsewhere for some of them?

I'd start by telling my wife - why did you keep this from her?
