How do you open the crank assemly on a patio umbrella [ 0 Answers ]

To change the pulley rope and fasten it properly you need to get into the crank housing where the rope is coiled. How do you get in there? I can't even get the crank off. Right now it looks like sailboat rigging with the rope on the outside.
