    Concrete water fountain crumbling
We have a concrete water fountain and the bowl is starting to crumble (underneath) I was wondering if it is worthwhile trying to patch/repair it or replace it. I am thinking of concrete patch material, although I know I won't be able to duplicate the pattern on the bowl considering it is underneath, I am not worried about it, there are several cracks in the bowl as well, but I know they can be addressed. Would the patch cement/concrete be enough needing a sealing as well?

If it's not actually coming apart from it's base you could just use putty underneath and paint it to match the color. If its breaking apart where the crumbling occurs you could try turning it upside down and using a form to pour a second base embedding the existing one inside of it. I am thinking it's a pedestal thing like a birdbath?

Yes it is a birdbath type pedestal, and it is crumbling apart from itself... the form idea sounds good, just need to find one big enough. Thank you.

You should have bought a fountain with aggregate and fibers in the concrete. The fountain companys will guantee those kind of concrete fountain and birdbaths. But if you let even them freeze in the winter, no refunds. They will just crack not crumble.
