    can't find where odor is?x?x!
    Last Autum the japanese beetles attacked our house and ever since there has been this nausiating, acrid odor that I can't find. I've crawled on my hands and knees smelling the carpet, sniffing the heater vents and furniture, to no avail. The smell doesn't seem to be coming from anywhere and yet it's there. It is stronger in the livingroom Does anyone else have this problem and did they discover where the smell was coming from? Help:confused:

    Is this a decay odor? If so I would have the ductwork and air return checked for organic matter or dead beetles. They may have found a place to lay eggs last year and the hatchlings that didn't survive might be the source of an acrid type decay odor.

    I have experienced what you described and found may dead beetles on the tops of door and window frames as well as window sills. Using a crevice tool on a vac I got most of it, they can get into very small cracks. If an odor refuses to leave after thorough cleaning you may want to call a rental place and see if they rent an ozone machine designed to kill bacteria and odors.
