Cortizone injections for lateral epicondilitis ? Safe or not?
Hello I am wondering what you feel about cortizone injections in to the tendon of the arm for lateral epicondilitis please?Ihave been told to stay away from these by one GP and then a specialist just told me that this would be good for the pain and it was not a risk for the body. Also that it will not heal the condition, but reduce pain which would allow me to work at job which created the stress to the elbow.
    I am confused. Thank you

Okay, I've never had a cortisone injection in my arm, but I've had a few in my foot, to treat plantar fascitiis. It's a specialist procedure, you don't let just anyone stick needles in, and I'd try all the alternatives first. But if you have pain which is interfering with your life, the injection may be the way to go.

Personally, I hate getting the injection, but I love being able to walk without pain.

If your job is causing injury, that's a separate matter and should be taken up by your union or someone similar.

Why do I like injections [ 1 Answers ]

Recently I had been to a doctor. He gave me an injection on my upper arm. I used to be very afraid of injections. But the way he held my arm and pierced a thick long needle in my delicate upper arm changed it all. Now, I would love that pain of prick. Why did I started liking injections?
