    Colon detox
What is the best and safe way to detox your colon and intestines. I have IBS with constipation and I heard that detoxing your insides will help you to get back on track. Ive tried eating fruits and vegis and I've taken Metamucil, Fiber One, Citricell etc.. Nothing seems to work. So I figured I'd give this idea a try. If anyone can help that would be great.

I have IBS and found that once I stopped eating anything that contained soybean products like soybean oil, soybean powder, etc my IBS got a lot better. I don't know about a detox as I've tried just about everything with no good results as the IBS just came back. I did however have my IBS improve when I started the Dr. Atkins diet. That was wonderful for me. My IBS came back when I went off the diet though. I'm doing a modified version of the Atkins diet and the IBS is a little better.

I would recommend that you go through your kitchen cabinets and eliminate all soy products as that will definitely help your condition in a heartbeat.

Twinkle is right all the detox in the world will not help if you keep loading up on soy, dairy, junk food, foods loaded with preservatives, fast foods, artificial sweeteners, etc...

You have to avoid bad fats buy the oils that are with the olive oils
Olive oil, coconut oil, almond oil, grape seed oil, etc...

    Not the crisco/wesson

    Eat high fiber-whole grains/whole wheat

    Balance your PH

Detoxes, metamucil, etc should not be taken regularly because your digestive system and colon could get dependent on them.
A good detox that I would use would contain milk thistle, burdock, slippery elm and other things for the digestion. It should not be taken regularly. With the IBS I would check with the dr about taking anything.

Fruit Detox [ 2 Answers ]

Has anyone tried a fruit detox? I have read about them online, where you eat only certain types of fruit or vegetables for 3 to 5 days. I'm curious if this would really help your body get rid of the toxins and also help slim down.
