    I can't stop picking my face and scalp.
    I started picking 8 months ago when I moved and I can't get it to stop, no matter what I do. I tried knitting myself a head band to cover the scars and I scratched though it. It is really making me feel terrible about myself and I want to find a way to stop it.

    Sounds like a nervous condition, unless there's an underlying medical condition that is making your skin itchy.

    Have you seen a doctor to rule out anything medical? If yes, and there's nothing medical going on, then I would suggest seeing a psychologist.

    I have to agree with the above posts

    Moving to a new location / area away from friends and even family for some can start / place a lot of stress , anxiety , Nervousness etc onto that person.

    " Will people like me " , " Should I wear this " , " I want to be accepted " , " That wasn't good " , " Hope tomorrow goes better " etc are just some thoughts that may go through a person mind when starting a new job , a new school etc.

    Anyway I would go see a doctor , who may send you to a councillor or psychologist.

    Noting continuing to pick at the scars, cuts , peeling on your face can result in permanent scars.

    YES to all the above, but meanwhile, please tell us more.
    Why did you move? Was your life unhappy, and is it now? Or worse?
    What exactly do you pick at? You mention scars, but were there bumps, pimples, acne scars, or any other skin condition there already? Is it itchy as we would assume, or not?
    Is there any chance your new home has an infestation of some invisible bug, like bird mites?

    There are itchy bacterial infections of the scalp that respond to anti-bacterial soft hand soap.
    There are plenty of home ideas you can think of, but you have to really want to do them, such as wearing thin mittens and headscarves around the house. But air your skin out often, because air is good for your skin.
