OK I have searched everywhere and I can't find the answer so...
How do I take RCA jacks from like a playstation and input the signal to use my laptop screen for the "tv" so to speak I know how to do the sound but the video is the hard part so if some one could help me I need to know if there's an adapter for a RCA to Usb or firewire to go into my computer I've seen the ones in like radio shack for capturing but I don't know if its for like a live video source also if I could make an adapter if you can help thanks

Most laptop hardware is designed to output a video signal. To input a signal directly, the video hardware needs to support it, otherwise a capture device is needed. For real time display, USB and Firewire capture devices typically aren't fast or smooth enough for play. What I'd suggest you try is a TV tuner PCCard something like AVerMedia AVerTV CardBus Plus if your laptop supports it. I'd also suggest you talk with the manufacturer of whatever you decide to buy first as they could best suggest a product for your specific application. The specific combined hardware/software package is important if you want to get full screen display. The unit I referenced shows the TV input in a viewer application that may have a maximum resolution less than your laptop's display. You'll have to decide what's acceptable to you and then do some product research.
