    Sound issue
    My computer XP PENTIUM 3 WAS Totally RESTORED.after that I have no sound,I can't stand it,its making me sick.whem I go to:divice manager.it shows mutimedia audio controller with a yellow question,when I try uploading it,it says:the wizard was not installed because it could not find the necessary software.ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!its making me mad.

    Please tell me how to get my sound back.

    Do you have the original XP install disc?

    If so, just put it in the cd-rom, then when you try to upload the driver, it will search the XP disc and load it.

    Without the disc, you may have to go to the manufacturers web site and get the driver there.

    Right click on the device with the yeelow mark and choose uninstall and say OK
    Close all open windows and restart the PC. On reastart, windows will find sound card and load a generic sound driver. After windows starts, check sound.

    If still ot working, check device mgra dn make note of the sound card/driver, post here and/or go to mfg website

    Problem,I don't have the xp disc,my friend has it.is there any other way?

    No,I'm sorry it did'nt work,I have no disc of the xp installasion no more,is there anything else I can try?
