    Firewire Camcorder Capture not responding
I've been downloading my own home movies for sometime now.
And compiling my own DVD's of family get togethers. And as such consider myself as a bit of an expert when it comes to DVD authouring and publishing.

However I tried recently to connect my Camcorder to do some video capture, and my machine is not recognising and picking up my camcorder.
I connect via a firewire cable and pci card, both of which are identified in the device manager, and all of which are working perfect, as I have tried them in my dad's machine and they work perfect in that.
So I am at a loss as to how to resolve the problem. I have tried various fix it solutions, after browsing numerous webpages. I've downloaded Microsoft Hotfixes and updates, all to no avail.
Can anyone out there help, and save my much receding hair line, and keep my machine from getting the spanking of a lifetime.

    Many Thanks

    Rob

I am wondering what the secret is to hooking up a Sony TRV330 digital Camcorder through the Firewire connection. Apparently there is a sequence that must be followed or you can blow out something in the Camcorder. I don't do this very often, so once again, I guess I killed it (the camcorder). ...
