What do you do with a horrible old parent who you think is crazy?
I think my mother has a mental problem. She appears to hate women and has fallen out with every female member of the family, including myself. I am thinking of cutting her out of my life permanently. Before I do I wondered if there was any help out there for her. She will never admit there is anything wrong with her so she won't go to the doctors to get help. Is there such a mental condition anyway? Her problem with women stems from having a grandmother live in the family home. Apparently this lady always spoilt everything and mother clearly didn't get her own way as much as she would like to. As I cannot ask the grandmother her side of the story I don't know the truth of this tale as it has only come from mother.

What has she done to make you feel this way? You state you have had a "falling out" with her and so have others. What do you define as a falling out serious enough to cut your mother from your life?
There may not be anything "wrong with her" , but wrong with things around her.
Tell her your concerns and try to have a "heart to heart" with her. Cutting all contact seems drastic at best , honest communication, if possible, can work miracles .
