Is it possible to see what's buried in your yard with a type of scan
    Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to scan your back yard to see what is buried out there.I moved into this house and found out a short time after that the guy that lived here before was put in prison for sexually abusing children.I don't believe in Ghosts but we are having some strange goings on in the house. My 5 year old and my 3 year old are convinced there is a little boy that sits in the corner of the bedroom at 5.30 every morning. The garden is very uneven and neighbours have told me that the guy that lived here before was seen digging the garden and burying things out there.I hope that this is too much TV on the part of my children and the hole digging was just his way of getting rid of disgusting publications.I do want to know what is out there without bringing in a mini digger.

Sorry, no scanner for that kind of job; only if there is heat involved, that is finding someone who is buried alive and a heat sensitive scanner is used.

I guess you will have to start digging, or possibly, as you say, too much forensics programmes on TV.

There has been more coverage on the Moor murders recently; the two, man and woman, now passed away in prison who killed and buried the children in the 60s. Perhaps your children have been hearing about this and have active imaginations.

I would like to know what is out there.Horrible thoughts go through our minds which is supported by a horrible smell in the house after we moved in and the place had an infestation of flies of almost biblical proportion once we started warming the place up.Ho hum maybe ignorance is bliss.

You could hire a paranormal investigator, and I know there are plenty of them about nowadays.

Yes, your description would warrant some sort of investigation.

Metal detectors can detect metal objects. There are also devices that use things like sound waves to identify the location of buried objects. I would imagine it's expensive. There's been a controversy in the Chicago area because John Wayne Gacy, known for murdering and burying many young men and boys, managed an apartment building and was seen digging in the yard there years before he was implicated in the murders of boys found in his home. Some sort of scan was done of the yard determining there were many areas that were "suspicious" in that something was buried but they did not know what. There has been resistance to provide the search warrant to permit law enforcement to dig up the property and check for sure.

So, it apparently can be done and if you own the property, you can consent to it being done and digs being done as well. I'm not a big believer in paranormal activity but I do believe we sometimes have gut instincts about things that we should follow. As for the children's suspicions, why not put the matter to rest by putting a movie camera in their room overnight or setting an alarm so you can come in at that time and reassure them that nobody is there.

Thank you for your informative answer. With regards the ghosts theory I am not a great believer either.I did put a HD video camera in the room and it started at 5.20 am and at 5.31am there was a ball of dull light that seemed to appear from my sons bed and float down towards the floor and vanish.About five minutes later it returned and but going back the way it came.I can confirm that the video light was off so the dust particle theory is out the window.Kinda strange as I have never come up against this in my life before.
