Can I reclaim LOST French citizenship?
I am a US citizen. My mother and I were both born in France. I would like to reclaim my LOST french citizenship. My mother is also a US citizen now, but kept up with her family book.
Is it possible for me to reclaim French citizenship after about 40 years.. now that were both American citizens?

    Kind regards,
    Cmp

I think you should have posted this in the "immigration law" section. Maybe not. I know that one is not supposed to post the same question in more than one section. But I think that is where you are more likely to get an answer.

Contact the french embassy... they should be able to avise you... I and my daughters have irish/eu citizenships and passports since my parents were born in ireland... I am considered automatically an irish citizen as my parents were born there but my daughters had to do more to apply... Je parle le francais pq j'etais le premier etudiant de francais dans mon ecole secondaire ici en New York... J'aime tout de la france mais je vais retirer en bresil et parle le portugais (et l'espagnol)... Bonne Chance!
