    Signle phase motor
Would it be possible to run single phase motor without earthing? As in my case there is three phase line without earthing on electric pole . So can I proceed to run 1Ø motor with this situation.
I have tried with one phase and external earthing not from electric pole but I could not succeed to run the motor.

It takes 1phase & a nuetral to run a single phase motor.it will run wihtout earthing, but if the motor develops a fault, the fact that is not earhted could be very dangerous.
