Sounds when emails arrive through Outlook
When I receive emails through outlook it goes beep. I would like to put a custom sound instead of this beep.

I got it kind of working, what I did was change the default sound to my custom sound but every time I did an error it went off as well as receiving emails.

    Can anyone help

    Cheers

    Try:
    1. Open Sounds in Control Panel (Select Start > Settings > Control Panel)
    2. In the Events: window, scroll down to the entry New Mail Notification
    3. Now you can use the Browse button under the Sounds header to select a new sound
    4. Press Apply and OK

It should be the "New Mail Notification" which I don't see listed in your post.

That image looks like it has come from XP OS I am on OS 2000

In my control panel my option is called Sounds and mulitmedia

Looking through my outlook 2003 I have found an option to play sound but can't find out how to put a specific sound on there Iwent through

    Tools
    Options
    Email Accounts
    Advanced Email Options

I wonder if there is someway of finding that default sound and changing it.

I know this is not a not really important but its just quirk that I used on my XP at home that I wouldlike to do at work

Cheers for all the previous help

That is interesting. The window image was from a computer at default settings, with no sound card, henced the greyed out volume control.

Try loading a sound scheme. You may have to install from the Windows 2000 CD.

    Try logging in as administrator.
