DSL pppoe connects automatically, without prompting
DSL pppoe connects automatically, without prompting. This is a problem that has happened before and I resolved it, but I do not recall how. I have tried many things, including SpyBot, etc. but nothing seems to work. I have deleted the connection.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like you have PPPoE configured on the computer, so it logs you in there?

If so, then there is a connection with your username and password that comes up. If you don't want it to log in automatically, go to:
    Control Panel
    Network Connection
Right click on the one you want
    Properties
    Options tab
Check the Prompt for Username and Password box
    OK
    Close open windows
    Give it a go

That is, assuming you have windows XP.

I appreciate your help, but unfortunately, that does not work; the box you suggested was already checked. The problem is more complicated than a simple, obvious answer will address.
