What's the best way into a Project Management career?
I'm a 28 year old mature student who will graduate this summer (2009) with a science-based degree. During the Easter break I will also be obtaining a Prince2 Practitioner's qualification, and from there I intend to start the process of obtaining a career in Project Management.

Previously I have worked in recruitment (therefore having much experience in communicating with a wide range of people, from junior office clerks to senior company directors). I have also been extensively involved in helping to set up a company from scratch (which in itself was a massive project!). This included everything from staff recruitment through to laying the carpet tiles in the work unit. I also have extensive administration experience.

I have the ability to sell myself well at the interview stage, but I am unsure of the best route directly into Project Management without such a previous job title. What's your advice?

I am based in the UK, and intend to work in London.

    Many thanks,
    James
