    Too Skinny
Okay I'm 17 years old and I'm so skinny I'm just 100 pounds and I haven't gained any weight for a couple of years and I want to gain weight but it never works... like every time I eat a lot I never gain weight and I just get so tired of eating and eating till I'm full to the point where I want to vomit and tired of shoving food in my mouth. My metabilisiom is really high because if I'm really full 20 minutes later Ill be hungry and in need of food again.. What should I do? Sometimes I get so depressed and I think things I shouldn't be thinking.. its hard when I see other girls out there with nice curves while I'm here with nothing... I don't even want to leave my house sometimes.. Please help.

To gain weight you need of course to increase your calories, you weight 100 lbs so you should be eating at least 2000 calories a day. You still should eat healthy, no junk food because of the fats. Foods like tuna, almon, flax, walnuts, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes, chickpeas, kidney beans, omlets, rice pasta, granola peanut butter, bagels, granola and cornbread for starters. Veggies like olives, potatoes, avacodos, corn, squash, fruits, like canned in syrup, and dried fruits and fruit nectar drinks. Use Nutritional supplements like Ensure or protein powders, even instant breakfast drinks with whole milk along with your usual meals. Use Milk instead of water in hot cereals, soups and sauces, spinkle powered milk on meatloaf or casseroles, Mix cooked, chop meat, wheat germ, cheese, nuts, seeds or beans to casseroles, pasta and side dishes Add at least 300 calories to your normal intake. It takes awhile to gain weight, just try some of these ideas and you should se some improvement. Don't let it get to you, think about how you want to look and gradually add to your intake.

Also go to the doctor to check whether there is a medical reason why you can't gain weight. Maybe there isn't but it is worth a visit. Good Luck

1.) Who cares about the other girls, I know what you mean, some times I want to have like large muscles like others my age (im 15) but that isn't everything. As you grow older you will learn that curves isn't everything. Intelligences is better! I do not no how old you are but if you are younger than me or about the same age, boys my age only care about how you look. I am like that a lot (Can't help it), but then I realize how stupid some of these girls are and then I go for brains

I have a friend who is also very skinny and has a high metabolism. My friends and I always cheered her saying when you get home eat 5 packets of chips and stuff like that to make her happy. I always told her to tell me when she gained or lost weight because she was my best friend, that was almost 2 years ago and she is still the same. My mom also has a friend like that but this might help you. The lady who was around her 20s went to the exercising (sp?) room everyday with a friend. The friend would ask why she would go to lose weight if she was already super skinny. She answered that even though she was super skinny, she was gaining muscle which means she was gaining weight. You might try that. I may not know how you feel about yourself, but don't give up yet.

Honey I know how you feel... I weigh 85lbs but I'm only 4'11. How tall are you. You probably have a very high metabolism like apple stated. The best thing you can do is to increase you calorie intake with healthy foods, of course, and work on building muscle. To keep my weight up, I drink a protein shake with my breakfast and before I got to bed and that seems to help me out a lot. Loveless had a lot of great ideas as well. Good luck to yah and learn to love your body... once you get a little older you will begin to appreciate it a little more! When I was your age I hated my knobby little legs and my skinny little arms... I know how you feel girly but keep your chin up!

I like skinny girls. As long as you look healthy try not to worry about it. Don't stuff your face and try and get fat. Instead exorcise and get toned and lean. It's a much better look and you are going to be happier with how you look than if you gain 10 pounds of fat in the wrong places.

Well, you can start by going to the doctor, to make sure everything is all right, and then start eating normally and try to eat a lot of carbs.
