I have a client who tells me that she has a similar problem
This can be caused by many things from Diet to Circulation the best thing to do would be to see a doctor so that they can keep track of what's happeing to find the cause
Some times we have seen that a well trained massage therapist can move things along
As well so you may want to give that a shot

    Good Luck
    Let me know what happens

Most definitely, just to work out the reason for your constipation. In the meantime I suggest getting your hands on some Movicol or Coloxyl tablets. They work wonders for relieving constipation and they are over the counter meds. The other thing you could do is take magnesium supplements as they are a natural way of getting things moving and they are good for almost every aspect of your general wellbeing at the same time. Good luck. And yes oodarkman, massage can be very effective but remember to always massage from right to left and never push down hard or roughly palpate hard areas of your stomach.

Drinking warm water with lemon when you wake up is suppose to help
Also eat fresh fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water and herbal teas,
Taking digestive enzymes is also helpful.

Eat a diet composed of mainly unrefined foods (whole grains, fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds), drink at least 6 glasses of water daily, and get lots of exercise. This will avoid most colon problems.
Avoid too much spicy food, greasy food, animal fat. Keep oil, margarine, and sugar to a minimum.
Chew your food well, eat slowly.
Eating a high roughage, low refined carbohydrate diet, will do much for constipation.
Stay away from Cold drinks and food (frozen or direct out of the fridge)
In severe cases stay off all dairy for one month and see if your condition improves.

Hi oodarkman, your name makes sense now. Being blind would definitely help you find problems with your hands. Your probably able to sense peoples moods better than most as well. I have been a nurse for 3 years now but have worked in the nursing industry for 10. I wanted to raise my kids first so I did 14 years as mum first before I decided to start a career. I can imagine the doctors being complete pains in the proverbials lol! Facilitators are the worst as well, they are always asking a billion questions about the procedure that's being performed, they know the in's and out's of a ducks you know what and they want to let you know!
So you're a massage therapist then?

I completely agree with NOhelp4u. You can prevent yourself from constipation by following certain steps. Firstly drink a lot of water everyday. Eat fibrous stuff. Always include fruits and fresh green vegetables in your diet. Eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner at proper time daily. Papaya is very much helpful in reducing constipation. Try to eat it daily. In case of severe constipation you can also take laxatives in an appropriate amount but only under your doctor's guidance. Stay away from oily and junk food. It is very important to remove constipation because long term constipation may lead to piles and fissures which are very painful. But don't worry, it can be removed by taking care of your diet. Wish you good health!!

You can prevent constipation by drinking lots of water. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Stay away from white bread, white rice and starchy foods. Instead eat brown rice and wheat bread.
