    Animal protein and dissociation.
I'm a vegetarian again after being on and off for the past five years and have had years of anxiety issues, looking back the worst of times have been when I was avoiding animal protein. So this time around, I've been veg for about five months and sometimes, I feel dissociated from my body and have major anxiety, so about every two weeks, I eat a steak and feel better the next day... does any one know if there is something (e.I. vitamin) in animal protein that we cannot get from alternative protein? (beans, cheese, hemp hearts etc... )

I understand that soybean curd is an excellent sub for animal protein.

Animal, and plant/veggie foods are the two major protein sources. Animal protein like meat, poultry, fish dairy, eggs are high volume protein. The contain all 9 essential amino acids that can not be synthesized by your body. Plant protein has some amino acids but not all 9, that your body needs, which is why you seem to feel so much better when you eat meat protein. (Just watch the fat content of the meats you eat ) We need 0.8 g of protein for every kilog. We weigh,( or 3.6 g of protein for every pound.) We need approximately 2-3 oz. of protein, I feel with each major meal we eat. Eggs are a good source, 1 cup potatoes-7 grams, some high sources of protein are: spinach, broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, kale, mushrooms, soybean sprouts, beans, nuts, grains, best in animal protein fish and poultry.

This is my question, not 'how do I get protein?' I know how to do that ;~~
