    Make sure the cable is correctly plugged in on BOTH ends.

    Why does this say Ethernet connection 4!
    Do you have other connection ports?

    If you go to the control panel and double click "Network Connections", what shows up in the window? Mine has only 2:
    1394 Connection... Connected
    And
    Local Area Connection2... Connected

    There is also an option to repair them with a right click.

    Do you know how to power cycle your router? Try turning off or unplugging the power brick from both router and modem (or just the one if there inclusive). Then shut down the PC for 30 seconds and restart. Wait until all activity has ceased (hard drive activity light stops blinking) then restart replugin your network devices.
