Do I need stronger glasses?
Okay I have a very strange question. I have asked this question before and no one can seem to help, I only seem to get smart butt answers or incomplete. Yes, still waiting on the eye doctor to get back to me. I am going to try and give enough details and not be vague. I have mild/moderate astigmatism and I have some mild nearsightedness in both eyes. When I focus on things what I am focusing on is clear. However, everything else is blurry. It doesn't matter if I have glasses on or not. When I wear my glasses it gets a little bit better, but not enough to make a difference. I can be looking at the clock (next to tv) and still can't see the TV enough to make out what is happening. All I see is blobs and colors, like I need to put on my glasses, but they are already on my face. Also, I forgot to mention that I have had this problem since I was a child. I just realized that not everyone sees this way when I was talking to friend. Do I need stronger glasses? What is wrong with me?

A year ago. I never said anything because I thought it was normal. It wasn't until I was talking to my friend that I realized it was not normal.

If its been a year, its time for another exam.
Your eyes CAN cange enough in a year to need a new prescription. AND any vision related issues you do need to tell them.

Have you ever told an eye doctor what you told us?
Can you see clearly during the exam?

No not yet. I have an appointment for Tuesday. I never knew it was not normal until today. So I never have said anything. I see fine once they put the prescription in the machine that they figure out what your eye sight is. I can read everything because in the machine my peripheral vision is blocked and I can only see the chart. Then when I get my new glasses (every time I go my eyes get worse) I can see great with what I focus at, but again peripheral is blurry.

So it's the peripheral vision. Glasses don't correct for that.

Sadly there isn't anyone, that I knew of, on this site that's an eye specialist. Even then, test would have to be run to get an accurate idea of what's going on.
Now that you know that your vision isn't the norm, I would wait until your appointment and discuss this with your eye doctor. He/she may decide to send you for more extensive tests, or to a specialist.
Wish we could help more, but I don't think there's anyone on this site that's qualified to even offer an educated guess on this.
I wish you the best of luck.

This does not appear to be an eye glass issue, and you need more than just an exam to check for glasses, but a full eye exam. You need to explain this to the doctor, so they can do detailed tests.
There are many reasons this could happen, some can't be fixed, other may need medication, others surgery. So there is just no way to know which and what is your issues.
Not that anyone can determine without an exam, but at a young age, were there head injury, trauma, blunt force.

I think explaining to your eye doctor what you have explained to us, will probably fix you right up. When were you diagnosed with this mild/moderate astigmatism?
This condition doesn't make you abnormal though, as we all have our issues, and yours happens to be your eyesight.
