Hi allof u :)

I have a small network of fifty computer ,all computer is connected with internet.
I want to moniter the downloading and uploading of every system ,I want to see the status
Of which types of downloading is perform by any perticular system.

Some time when any body download the video song and any his personal data ,in that
Time my internet speed is very slow ,and I can't identify the person who is perform
By this type of downloading .

So sugess me what I do for this.

Hello friend
What type of os you using man. You are using windows using some thard party software its possible.
You are using linux os using mrtg tool you can monitor all those things

I use window 2003 server for my server and window XP for my client .
Guess a best third party software for my LAN.

MRTG will run on either a Windows or Linux box. The important thing is to know what kind of a Network Switch you have since MRTG will need to talk to the switch in order to know which port is using what bandwidth. The switch also needs to be SNMP capable in order for MRTG to poll the switch for the correct interface data.

The other option is to run an SNMP agent on all of your workstations and poll those for traffic/interface data. Have MRTG then point at them but this will require that you touch all 50 computers whereas pointing at the switch only requires you to touch one device.

Another option is to use a tool that utilizes MRTG/RRD and gives you a lot more "view" capability into your network. The tool is called JFFNMS. With this tool you can also point at your computers (I don't recommend it) and/or your switch.
