    Gigabit networking issue
OK, I'm in the process of upgrading my LAN backbone to Gigabit.
For more of an over view have a look Here.
So I'm running a 3 box stack of Netgear FS752 these connect to two 16 port Gig switches, Netgear GS516T.

So the problem I'm having is this.
My primary server, #1, has 2 onboard gig NIC's.
Once connected to the 16 porters everything looks fine, but I can't ping anything on my network and nothing can see this box.
Bit of a downer really as this is my main DC (Win 2000 AS upgrade from NT).

I've tried all the normal stuff, rebooting, switching connections, checking/swapping cables, still no luck.
I'm using CAT5e cables, I know Gig prefers CAT6, but I have other servers operating on the same setup with no problems, just this one box.

Has anyone got any ideas what the problem could be or other things I could try?

Are you using both nic's on the server? I presume there's no IP address conflict. What about the duplexing of the onboard cards, is there a conflict there?

I haven't really used this type of setup so excuse my ignorance, but does the management interface of the switches allow you to check connected IP addresses or MAC addresses?

OK just call me Mr Dumb Bottom.
Next time I really should remember the First Rule of IT:
    Have You Rebooted ;)

Yep that's all it needed was a simple kick in the pants and 16 porter is working like a dream now.
Didn't really think about doing the switch just the server.
