Can I get a wireless password from a wired machine?
At work I use a Power Mac G4, which has a wired connection, but the router is both wired and wireless. I want to also connect my own Macbook to the network, but nobody at the office remembers the password, they just use the wired connections. Is it possible to find out the password through a machine wired to the router?

If nobody remembers the password you'll have to reset the router and set a new password. Best to do that outside of work hours. :D

Does your work have an IT staff? Best to talk to them (if applicable) before adding home computers to corporate environments... tends to make them angry when they run out of IP's and research shows 1/3 are home devices (speaking from experience here)

I don't think that will be a problem, there is only four of us in the office. I just want to use my macbook for certain things as well, since the software I'm running is much newer than what has been provided to me.

If you answer NO to the following two questions, your only option is to reset the WAP or router to factory settings...

    1) Do you remember the password to access the wireless signal?

    2) Do you remember the password to enter the web interface of the device to reset the access password?

Without knowing these two passwords, your only option is to reset your equipment.

    What is the make/model?
