I burned a copy of my Windows95 disk so I would have a spare in case of damage to the original. Yet the copy will not boot by itself the way the original does. Why is this?

Hi,
Very good idea of backing up your 98 CD's.
Did you burn EVERY file from the original?
The best way is to:
Add each file from the original to the CD-R.
Then, add each folder.
If you go through the process, one file at a time, you will be sure that all files and folders are burned.
If you used something like "Copy CD", it probably left out the auto start file.

PS; Check your burned copy, see if a file named autorun.inf and/or autorun.exe is on it.
Check your original for the specific names of these to see if they are on the burned copy.

Try using an ISP program, like Winiso to make an image of the files on the original, then check that out, it always works for me to make an image 1st then burn it, when copy to copy does not work properly.
