You don't. Free online Mp3's are illegal due to copyright infringement.

I've reopened the thread. While most commercial songs are copyprotected and therefore getting them for free is illegal, there are many place that you can get free tracks.

Many bands do offer free tracks to build a following. So you can try the band's websites.

But if your goal is pirating copyrighted works that's theft.

Download a software called Frostwire, as this is file sharing, it is technically not illigal and you can download whatever you want.

You may also like the YouTube downloader from downloads.com where you can take the music from the videos and convert into MP3 format.

Actually this is exactly how pirating is done, it is illegal and leaves you open for prosecution should you get caught.
