Trying to find an english comedy
This movie is an old English comedy. The setting is outbreak of World War II. A scene to remember is a group of English gentlemen going over to Dunkirk to retrieve English soldiers from the beaches there. On the way over, in a classic Themes river yacht, they are attacked by a Germany Messerschmitt. One of the elderly men steps onto the bow with his side-by-side shotgun and repeats to himself a standard waterfowl hunting phrase “three lengths before the bill” and fires, knocking down the plane. On their way to Dunkirk they also discuss taking out “Big Herman” a gun the Germans have with range to cross the English Chanel. Other parts of the movie involve boot legging Whiskey though the English moors and poaching salmon. Classic English humor and a very entertaining film probably produced in the early fifties. Last time seen was sometime in the late seventies.

Trying to find out the title of a comedy from early 80's or maybe 70's [ 2 Answers ]

The move is set at an old hotel or something lke that. A group people go to it, and I turns out to be haunted. Their bus flies into the pond, the cardboard cut-out stage play comes to life with an octopus and a whale getting them all wet. Real slapstick comedy, maybe made in england or ireland.
