    Sci Fi movie A lot like Wing Commander.
    All right, I'm looking for the title/actors of a sci-fi movie. Moderately certain that is was made SOMEtime in the nineties, likely around the release of Wing Commander.

    Movie goes as such:

    A group of 'cadets' goes on a training mission with an instructor. While on this mission they are attacked by the 'enemy'. The instructor is killed, and the cadets are forced to fend for themselves against 3-4 bigger ships. Through ingenious means (cant remember them) they slowly take down all the ships, their ship taking more and more damage as time goes on.

    Points I DO remember :

    2 guys vying for leadership, and a minor fistfight
    Woman doctor, rememebring blonde ponytail
    The cadet ship is always referred to as a 'corvette' class.
    The captain of the force they are fighting is vaguely russian, bald and rather large.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I'm looking for the same movie... I remember that they hide in a comets tail for a long time to prevent themselves from peing picked up by the enemy... thats all I go though :(

    It appears to be a failed series pilot from 1996 called Star Command (not to be confused with the superior Jason of Star Command, aka In the Fold.
